Environmental assessment is recognised internationally as a key-mechanism for
translating the principles of sustainable development and environmental
protection into strategies and actions that can be applied to development
initiatives. This document contains basic conditions and guidelines that must
be adhered to before an investment could be set up in marine protected areas.
